Bushy tail-like plumes like a Foxtail, it is easy to see where this Fern got its name.  Each frond is assembled from tiny star-shaped needles, all blanketing together to give the plant a soft and fluffy finish.

Keeping your fern in a bright position will stop it from growing long and leggy, meaning it will feel fuller.
 
Pinching out the tips of newly grown fronds will encourage it to thicken out at the base.
 
Trimming off the older, thinning or bare fronds in early spring will encourage new growth.
 
Light
Bright, indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight may scorch the needles, whereas insufficient light may turn them yellow and cause them to drop.
 
Watering
Keep moist at all times, but do not allow it to stand in water. Less water is required during the winter but don’t let the soil dry out completely.
 
Temperature
Normal warm household temperatures. Needs a minimum of 13°C in winter.
 
Humidity
Prefers a warm, humid environment but will tolerate lower levels of humidity with regular misting.
 
Feed
Feed with a weak solution during the growing season.
 
Height & Growth Rate
Growing wider than taller, at full maturity can reach up to 50-90cm high, with a width of 120cm.
 
Toxicity
Inedible and may cause skin irritation.
 
Origin
Asparagus densiflorus Myersii originates from Southern Africa.
